Environmental Management Strategies, Inc. (EMS) was founded in November 2000 by Anthony Severini, P.G., C.H.G. to provide our clients with financially based, environmental solutions. As a former Director at KPMG, Mr. Severini spent many hours with corporate CEOs and CFOs assisting in the determination of environmental reserves and liabilities. The issues facing these officers were generally the same: What is the ultimate cost and financial exposure to the corporation from environmental liabilities? and, What is the ultimate reserve amount necessary to support GAAP? Too often, the existing environmental consultants were unable to provide a clear picture of the ultimate exposure, leaving CEOs and CFOs open to criticism from stockholders.
Mr. Severini set out to build a company that would assist CEOs and CFOs in developing a financial model for the successful completion of their environmental projects. Using the experienced he gained from startup of the western operations of TRC Companies (1986 to 1992) and Blasland, Bouck & Lee, Inc (1992 to 1998), Mr. Severini established EMS in California and Texas with experienced senior personnel to identify successful environmental solutions within the financial framework of our clients. There are normally many potential solutions to a specific environmental problem. Too often, clients procure environmental services from consulting and remediation firms with little to no guarantees regarding cost and success of the project. EMS will assist you in developing the most financially viable environmental solution.
